The two top executives at VMware (Paul Maritz, Steve Herrod) are planning a webcast on July 12, 2011 where they will unveil “the next major step…in Cloud infrastructure.”
I don’t know about you, but I’m guessing that this will be the vSphere 5 announcement that we’ve all been anticipating.
Other than speculation, there isn’t much more available online. Hit the link if you want to register and attend the event yourself.
The Kansas City VMware Usergroup will hold its third-quarter meeting on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at our regular location, the Muehlbach Suite of Boulevard Brewery. Highlights of the agenda include VM backup solutions (Avamar & Datadomain) from sponsor EMC and a post-event rundown from VMworld 2011 (Aug 29-Sept 1).
Final agenda and registration links will be published as we get closer to the date.
Your KCVMUG is happy to present a local tech consulting company—Network Integration Services (netisinc.com)—along with the virtualization optimization gurus at VKernel (vkernel.com) for another afternoon of VMware goodness.
We had a last-minute change to the agenda and substituted Aaron Hite of VCE for the planned presentation by NIS. His presentation slides (in PDF) is available.
I also have the slide deck from Bryan Semple (vKernel) on VM Capacity Management.
The winner of the iomega ix2 from vKernel is Kevin Brandt. VKernel will be contacting him directly; thanks to everyone who participated in the drawing.
The Kansas City VMware User Group is pleased to announce their 3rd Annual Regional Meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, December 6th at the nationally-reknowned home of the Kansas City Chiefs, Arrowhead Stadium.
We are also happy to announce that the day’s opening presentation will be a keynote from Chad Sakac (@sakacc) of EMC.
Additionally, you can expect breakout sessions from industry leaders in storage, networking, management, security, and of course, VMware itself. We’re also working on getting some hands-on-labs and an Ask the Experts panel session (or two) to round out the day.
